Office Sector

The first consideration when designing office washrooms is the number of people who will use the facility. The tables below will help you work out how many toilets, urinals and washbasins to include in office buildings.

The following recommendations are sourced from British Standard 6465-1:2006+A1:2009 – Sanitary Installations.

Female toilets

Above 100 persons require 8; plus 1 toilet and washbasin for every unit or fraction of a unit of 25 persons.

Every male toilet should have at least one WC. Considerations should be given to the provision of privacy screens between urinals.
Above 100 persons require 4; plus 1 toilet, urinal and washbasin for every unit or fraction of a unit of 50 persons.
