Operation and Maintenance – Cleaning Guide

For operation and maintenance (O&M) requirements, this cleaning guide covers ceramic products available from the Washroom Collection.

A PDF version of this guide is also available.

Ceramics

Clean ceramic products regularly with warm soapy water. Rinse, dry and polish with a soft clean cloth. Regular cleaning will prevent the build-up of limescale. Be aware that some cleaners can damage the surface of ceramics and fittings, particularly if left on for an extended time. We advise against the use of strong cleaners that contain abrasives or chemicals.

Toilet Seats

Clean the toilet seat surface regularly with warm soapy water. Abrasive cleaning agents may damage the surface.

Chrome-Plated Fittings

Clean regularly with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Rinse, dry and polish with a soft clean cloth. Do not use strong cleaners that contain abrasives or chemicals.

Regular Servicing

Like many other products, washroom products include moving parts, joints, connections, and valves, which will suffer over time if not serviced regularly. We recommend that you have your products checked annually by a competent and certified plumber.

Consider replacing flushing mechanisms as soon as there are signs of poor function or water leakage. Visit www.waterwise.org.uk and look for information on “leaky loos” to see how much you could save and help the environment too.
